The opportunity to subscribe to ATLAS for ALUM came just when the Advancement Office was considering how to strengthen the seminary’s connections with alumni. We have been thoroughly pleased with this program as we have learned from alumni how grateful they are to have it.

A pastor from Colorado wrote “I use the ATLASerials primarily for teaching and preaching. My methodology is to take the time to copy out 2-4 articles that are especially pertinent to my topic and then to use that content for background/backbone information for my weekly sermon/teaching.”

From another graduate we heard “In a place like Indonesia where we don't find Theological Journals, the AMBS gift for the alumni is really a blessing. I use them a lot for my lectures. It will be more helpful if the journals are recent (a year old). Thank you.”

To promote ATLAS for ALUM, I distribute access information to seniors at the celebrative breakfast on graduation weekend as a “gift” from the library. In late January, we have a week-long continuing education event for pastors. I set up a laptop in the lounge where breaks are held and talk to our alumni about ATLAS. I demonstrate searches and distribute access information. These conversations are a good way to stay connected with former students.
